Bank of America is known for offering a wide range of credit cards, each with its own set of benefits and rewards. Some of these cards carry the Bank of America branding in their names, while others are co-branded cards offered in partnership with other companies. Regardless of which Bank of America card you have, there is an exciting event coming up called More Rewards Day.
More Rewards Day is a special day when Bank of America credit cardholders can earn extra rewards on their purchases. This year, More Rewards Day will take place on November 9, 2023, between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. ET. What’s great about this promotion is that it applies to all Bank of America credit cards, including those that don’t typically earn rewards.
During More Rewards Day, the earning rates for different types of Bank of America credit cards are as follows:
1. Cash-back credit cards: Cardholders will earn an additional 2% cash back on the first $2,500 in purchases made on More Rewards Day.
2. Rewards credit cards that earn points or miles: Cardholders will earn an additional 2 points or miles per dollar spent on the first $2,500 in purchases made on More Rewards Day.
3. Non-rewards credit cards: Cardholders will earn 2% cash back as a statement credit on the first $2,500 in purchases made on More Rewards Day.
The best part is that you don’t need to enroll in any program to enjoy these bonus earnings. The extra rewards will be automatically applied to your account, and they are in addition to the rewards you would normally earn on your purchases. However, it’s important to note that the $2,500 purchase limit for bonus earnings applies per unique Consumer credit card account or unique Small Business company.
Let’s take an example to understand how this promotion works. Suppose you have an Alaska Airlines Visa credit card, which normally earns 3 miles per dollar spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases, 2 miles per dollar spent on eligible gas, EV charging station, cable, streaming services, and local transit purchases, and 1 mile per dollar spent on all other purchases.
On More Rewards Day, you will earn 5 miles per dollar spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases, 4 miles per dollar spent on eligible gas, EV charging station, cable, streaming services, and local transit purchases, and 3 miles per dollar spent on all other purchases, up to $2,500.
If you are part of Bank of America’s Preferred Rewards program, you will also earn your Preferred Rewards bonus on the purchase amount as usual. However, the Preferred Rewards bonus will not be applied to the incremental bonus earnings from this promotion.
To be eligible for More Rewards Day, you simply need to have an open and active Bank of America consumer or small-business credit card on November 9, 2023. However, it’s important to keep your account open and active until the extra rewards are fulfilled. It may take up to two billing cycles after the promotion ends to see the extra rewards in your account.
So, if you have a Bank of America credit card, it’s a good idea to mark November 9, 2023, on your calendar and take advantage of More Rewards Day. Consider making any big purchases or doing your holiday shopping on that day to maximize your rewards. However, depending on the other rewards credit cards you have in your wallet, it’s worth considering which card would give you the most benefits for your specific purchases.
Bank of America’s More Rewards Day is a great opportunity to earn extra rewards on your purchases and make the most of your credit card benefits. So, don’t miss out on this special event and start planning your shopping strategy for November 9, 2023!
