If you’re unfamiliar with buying points or even Aeroplan – let me just quickly run through it. Often times, airlines and hotels will straight up sell their points with a bonus or a discount. If you have a flight or hotel stay you’re planning, and you’re either short or completely without points, you can buy the points you need to shore up your account. Heck, you could even buy the points for the flight or hotel night cheaper than you could with cash. Only buy points when you know you have a reason to use them and it makes financial sense.

Aeroplan is selling their miles for as low as $0.0113 USD… (if you got the 125% bonus) assuming an exchange rate of 1 CAD = $0.072 USD. Personally, I got the 100% bonus meaning I could buy them for roughly 1.269 cents a piece. Why am I stressing you have a reason to use them? Airlines and hotels devalue their programs all the time. Aeroplan recently updated their program, and historically they’ve been quite customer friendly with notifying us with changes… But, you never know. Aeroplan is also a transfer partner of American Express, Capital One, Chase, and Bilt. For the record you can also convert Marriott Bonvoy points into Aeroplan. Aside from Marriott..I value all of those points more than 1.27 cents…so it could be worthwhile purchasing the points vs transferring. Additionally, I don’t have affiliate links for buying Aeroplan miles – this is just a great deal.

This is a mystery bonus where you can get up to a 125% bonus. Must log in to see your bonus Runs between 11/13 and 11/29 You must buy at least 100k in order to get 100% As you can see above…there are minimums for each bonus tier. If you maxed the offer out, you’d be sitting on 1M Aeroplan miles for $12,685 USD – you’d have 1,1250,000 if you got the 125% bonus. Is this the best price we’ve ever seen? If you’re getting over 100% bonus this is a screaming good deal. 2023 between 1.13 cents piece and 1.269 cents a piece 2022 – 1.4c at 80% bonus 2021 – 1.2c = 700k for 10,500 CAD 2022 ( Spring ) 100% bonus was offered

Where I would use Aeroplan Miles You can fly from the US to Europe for 70k miles. If you want to bake in a stopover…5k miles will do the trick. So, you could fly Swiss biz to Athens from LA, stop in Zurich for a few days, and then pop down for a total of 75k miles. That’s a really good deal.

Swiss Business Class LAX-ZRH in a Throne Seat US to South Africa for 85k each way. Lufthansa Business Class 747-8i US to Australia in Etihad first class for 140k While 140k seems like a lot of points you could fly like this from the US to Abu Dhabi to Australia for under $2000 just buying the points. That’s insane.
